Progressives Except Palestine (Pep) Talk

On Friday, February 23rd, protestors descended on James Solomon’s Jersey City hosted campaign event for Andy Kim, U.S. Senate candidate seeking Sen. Menendez’s seat, and Ravi Bhalla, U.S. Congress candidates seeking the younger Rep. Menendez’s seat.

Throughout the evening, attendees stood up and confronted Kim on his votes to fund a genocide. This video follows R, a Palestinian-American woman asking Kim if he plans to vote for the soon to come $14 billion vote to “aid” Israel.

I also spoke out and called out Kim’s faux support for a “bi-lateral ceasefire”. Kim has voted overwhelmingly with Israel (giving him a score lower than even Rep. Menendez) and has yet to call for a ceasefire. Kim even voted to say only a complete and unconditional surrender of Hamas can save civilian lives. Check out this DSA Palestine Vote Score members in NYC created to get every bad vote members of Congress have casted regarding Palestine. This helped put together Kim’s “Palestine ballot line”.

In the end, you can’t say you’re progressive if we know the only progress coming out of Gaza is a ceasefire, then an end to the siege and the occupation and apartheid.
